Job Description:

Group Home Manager for one of our Portage homes serving adults with disabilities. Open availability required and strong leadership qualities needed. Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises, interviews, hires, and trains Group Home employees.
  • Plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance, rewards and discipline for employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
  • Establishes and manages departmental budget, goals, objectives and policies.
  • Ensure financial accountability for cost center including requisitions, budgets, petty cash, household receipts, and other reports as requested.
  • Assist QIDP in planning instructional activities designed to meet coordinated ISP goals and objectives including recommendations by ancillary staff.
  • Assist QIDP in planning and implementation of other ICF/MR Federal Regulations, Medicaid and/or Fire Marshall required activities (including, but not limited to, the following areas: active treatment, emergency evacuation, tornado and fire drills, assistance with client finances, nutrition and medical care).
  • Participate in annual case conferences and/or staffing for participants with other appropriate members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain necessary documentation in electronic and paper records, reports, and participant file information.
  • Maintain assigned property to include, but not limited to, indoor, outdoor and vehicle maintenance.
  • Supervise and monitor medical and other needs of residents including, but not limited to: scheduled appointments, emergency procedures, surgeries, notification of appropriate IDT members, medication administration and the planning and arrangement of these things.
  • Direct medical decisions for participants who aren't capable or don't have a guardian.
  • Receive emergency communication and make decisions, sometimes with limited information.
  • Complete the number of required hours of in-service training annually;
  • Demonstrate appropriate role model for staff and participants.
  • Demonstrate teamwork with staff and participants in the agency.
  • Maintain acceptable work standards in all areas including attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License, with a driving record acceptable to Opportunity Enterprises, Inc. insurance carrier.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform responsibilities through education, prior training and/or experience.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have high school diploma/GED.
  • Must pass pre-screening requirements (i.e. Drug screening, TB Test, and Background check)
