Job DescriptionPosition: Maintenance SupervisorLocation: Mercedes Benz Vans -- Body Weld ShopJob Type: Full Time / Office-25% Shop Floor-75%Reports to: Maintenance Manager Department: North American OperationsPosition Purpose: Provide Maintenance Supervision support and analysis to assist Leadec in maintaining improving the capability of machinery and equipment to achieve Mercedes Benz objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.
  • Works safely and professionally.
  • Arrive on the job, ready to work every day according to the work plan and schedule.
  • Additional technical responsibilities as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge in multi craft fields and several years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Communication Skills - Ability to communicate with all levels of Leadec and customer employees.
  • Language Ability -- Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to provide rapid response to emergency breakdowns on production equipment.
  • Perform quick analysis and repair both mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
  • Work from mechanical drawings, sketches, manuals, specifications, written or oral instructions.
  • Strong industrial mechanical, plumbing and pneumatic trouble shooting skills.
  • Strong leadership ability with time management and prioritization skills.
  • Provide support for emergency or unplanned repairs of Production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic to complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Must show ability to get to the root cause and make and implement recommendations to improve reliability.
  • Actively participates in team meetings.
Position Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to pass Maintenance based aptitude testing.
  • Associate degree in Mechatronics or 5+ years of work experience in supervision.
  • Responsible for collecting and assisting with documentation of repair details, as directed by the Maintenance Manager
Physical Requirements:

  • Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is high).
  • Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces from 4 -12 hours.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment
  • Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
