Before and After School Care Staff - Glen Haven Elementary School - Silver Spring MDHere's what you'll need: High school diploma, certificate of high school equivalency ORSuccessful completion of at least 6 credits from an accredited college or university AND 1 year of experience working with children in an approved setting, (registered child care home, licensed child care center, nursery school, church operated school, or similar setting) OR 1 year of experience as a registered family child care provider OR 1 year of college (30 semester hours); you will have to complete a work verification paper that is completed by their past employer OR a combination of experience and college that equals 1 year.If not certified but have experience/college, we provide training certification of 45 hours in school age and 45 hours in growth and development for promotion to Group Leader at no cost. Must complete in 6-7 weeks.In addition, you will need: 90 Hour Certificate in School Age Development and CurriculumMedication Administration CertificateEmergency Preparedness CertificateAbility to motivate and engage children and manage behavioral challengesServes as a positive role model; must be enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and sensitive to childrenAbility to work a flexible schedule to meet program staffing needsGood judgment and sound decision-makingAbility to provide a supportive and caring environment for children Required licenses or certifications: Medication AdministrationADAEmergency Preparedness90 Hour School Age Curriculum and DevelopmentFirst Aid and CPR AlphaBEST: After School is where adventure begins!At AlphaBest, our students are filled with curiosity and wonder!
