GENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision, coordinate day-to-day production activities to ensure goals are met. Includes such duties as making job assignments, ensuring production schedules are met, determining output requirements and coordinating production efforts with other departments. Responsible to help with inventory systems, perform cycle counts and audits, problem identification and work with the appropriate people to permanently correct inventory issues to ensure that the correct quantity of materials are available to support our reliability goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Act as liaison between auditing, planning, production, schedulers, quality control, and engineering to analyze and high potential causes of inventory inaccuracies. Assist in determining appropriate inventory strategies that support meeting our customer's expectations and minimize our inventory investment. Communicate daily team and individual performance information to the work team leader. Communicate inventory issues with appropriate team members, such as shortages caused by adjustments. Coordinate day-to-day department operation activities for employees and temporaries, including shift work planning, line staffing and making job assignments. Coordinate the integration of new employees into the team to include making job assignments, job training, safety and quality training, etc. Count, research and reconcile inventory discrepancies. Identify and suggest corrective action to dispose of appropriate slow moving or obsolete inventory to procurement team. Maintain and report key issues. Maintain the accuracy of the systems by highlighting incorrect BOMs, validate and setup inventory records with proper codes and maintain locations. Monitor safety practices and quality initiatives of individuals. Participate in continuous improvement projects and lead initiatives as appropriate. Partner with engineering, and other teams to review requests (ECOs) to change BOMs, add or delete purchased items, setup warehouses, etc. Additional Essential Functions Train teammates to follow correct inventory procedures and monitor the processes to ensure compliance. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. Education/Experience One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency Minimum 3 years work experience including at least 1 year of manufacturing experience. Technical experience may be preferred depending on department. Skills and Abilities Ability to express ideas effectively (verbally and written) with well developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated professionalism. Good planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated success in achieving results. Capable to perform essential jobs in the department. Strong knowledge and understanding of material flow throughout the supply chain.
