Position Overview:

The Group Product Manager leads a portfolio of products and guides a team of product owners and/or product managers. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for defining and executing product strategy, driving product from concept to launch, and ensuring priorities and product roadmap aligns with Company objectives. Success in this role requires exceptional collaboration across every department to ensure that products meet customer and market needs while achieving business goals. The ideal candidate has a strong background in product management, demonstrated leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering impactful products in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy Leadership: Define and drive the overall product strategy for the assign product group, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product owners, providing guidance and support to help them succeed in their roles and grow professionally.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless product development and commercially successful product launches.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct and/or support market research to identify customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging trends, integrating these insights into product roadmaps.
  • Product Roadmap Ownership: Own the long-term product roadmap, making decisions on product prioritization, timelines, and tying to customer demand and commercial value. Partner with engineering on resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage expectations with stakeholders across the business, including executive leadership, and communicate product vision, plans, and progress to the entire Company.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making and Prioritization: Leverage analytics, tools, and customer feedback to make informed decisions on prioritizing product enhancements, optimizations, and new features, including the responsibility to decline, defer, or stop work altogether.
  • Revenue and Growth Responsibility: Provide appropriate support to Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing to ensure that your assigned product group meets commercial targets, including ARR, bookings, and retention objectives.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of products from concept to launch to post-launch optimizations, ensuring continuous improvement and iteration.
  • Risk Management: Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure that product launches and ongoing operations run smoothly.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Industry Expertise: Prior experience in the aviation market, ideally within the reliability, troubleshooting, or maintenance space, with a strong understanding of specific customer needs and regulatory environments.
  • Product Management Experience: 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years leading teams of product managers or multiple product lines.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and mentoring skills with a track record of building and leading high-performing product teams.
  • Customer Focus: A strong customer-first mindset with a deep understanding of user experience, customer journeys, and pain points.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong technical understanding of software development processes, enabling collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of pricing and packaging strategies, revenue forecasting, modeling, and budgeting to ensure products have long term financial targets that can be achieved.
  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in data analysis, market research, and KPIs to drive product decisions.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple products and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, both within the Company and with customers.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify problems, think strategically, and develop actionable solutions.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Advanced Degree: MBA or an advanced degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies: Deep experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and driving Agile transformation within product teams.
  • Global Product Experience: Proven success in managing products that serve global markets, including localization strategies, culture differences in buying and decision making, and understanding different international standards (e.g. FAA, EASA).
