Job Description:

  • Manages all activities for continuous improvement and performance enhancement within the value stream and in harmony with the site's overall systems.
  • Create strategic LEAN transformation plans linked to the Policy Deployment. Help engage the organization from bottom up to help them understand and adapt to a continuous improvement culture. Facilitate the planning events for new battery pack production processes and expansions
  • Drive follow ups - Ensure key stake holders are informed of improvement plan updates and its associated communication.
  • Act entrepreneurially on matters related to Lean/GROWTTH (Getting Rid of Waste Through Team Harmony); lead, guide, and energize all levels of associates within and for the business.
  • Take the Lean/GROWTTH process to new heights. Promote Lean/GROWTTH by planning, organizing, conducting and facilitating Kaizen events; ensure that optimum results occur and continue after new processes are in place; provide follow-up, track and communicate results, analyze and report on cost savings/effectiveness of these events.
  • Conduct Kaizen training; facilitate Kaizen teams. Guide organization in lean systems implementation. Host outside Kaizen events and external participants. Communicate Lean/GROWTTH related information.
  • Continually contribute to improving training materials and techniques. Support the implementation of the Lean Admin and Six Sigma programs, activity seek out and test better practices, understands and implements relevant health and safety policies into daily work activities.
  • Perform other functions as necessary to adhere to ISO/TS 16949 standards, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Standards.
  • Participate in the tracking for impact and cultural improvements for the site and value stream. For example: manage and publish cost savings associated with each project, manage green belt certifications for the value stream.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree (example: BSME, BSIE, BSBA) and related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and training skills.
  • Knowledge of the Toyota Production System, hands-on experience in Lean Systems implementation, knowledge of Kaizen methodology.
  • Freudenberg Sealing Technology Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean System Black Belt preferred. Provide curriculum and project examples for alternatives with 3+ years in a value stream transforming black belt role.
  • Prior experience applying lean methods to new equipment / process designs
  • Ability to train project teams in principles of Lean / continuous improvement.
  • Ability to set project timelines and lay out plan of actions with timelines.
  • Ability to communicate results and issues through all levels of the organization as well as to vendors and customers.
  • Basic statistical analysis to include: trending, averages, standard deviation and run charts.
