Location: Attica,IN, USA
Harrison Steel has a Guard position open to monitor traffic arriving and departing the plant. This position will be scheduled at40 hours per week and must have holiday availability. As this is primarily a night position during off-hours, many areas will have reduced lighting. The schedule for this role is Monday, Tuesday 10 PM - 6 AM, Saturday, Sunday 6 PM to 6 AM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Opens gate to allow entrance or exit of employees, truckers, and authorized visitors.
Records who enters the plant; stops anyone who does not have a pass.
Works as a team with the Security Patrol in case of emergency; fire, power outage, etc.
Provides security during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Works with shipping and receiving, engineers, and others during the day.
Answers the telephones, takes messages, or transfers calls accordingly.
Ensures the correct bills are received by the truck drivers and notifies shipping correctly.
Notifies Metallurgical Lab when scrap truck arrives.
Notifies Facilities Supervisor when scrap trucks enter scales.
Follows job work instructions and training matrix, where applicable.

Education/Experience:
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
