This job opportunity is for services to be performed under a contract with the federal government Office of Refugee Resettlement.Guard II is responsible for ensuring the Guard staff adheres to Deployed Services Security (DSS) standards and those of our customers at worksites. This includes, but is not limited to, the individual training, conduct, personal appearance, and cleanliness of their Security Officers. Essential Functions:
- Train and develop Guard l to understand the rules and standards of Deployed Services Security (DSS) and its customers
- Place employees in positions appropriate to their capabilities and interests
- Resolve interpersonal conflicts to ensure a cohesive and effective workforce
- Assist with long-range planning for the growth and development of the organization
- Provide leadership to personnel through planning, organization, direction, and control
- Evaluate and continuously appraise subordinates; every effort should be made to correct observed deficiencies
- Work in partnership with the Site Manager, site team, and fellow team members and play a vital role in the successful execution of the site's security program
- Work to create an environment that offers encouragement and support to the team while working toward a common goal
- Supervise company personnel, including assigning work, coaching, and discipline, as defined by the client contract, and as directed by the management
- Set the example for the ideal performance of a Deployed Services Security (DSS) security officer
- Observe, detect, and deter activities that may impact clients
- Functions as a supervisor to Guard I, Team Leads, and other company personnel assigned to one or more posts at client site(s); acts to ensure that all post orders are followed, that established rounds are completed, and that adequate reports are filed; notifies proper authorities and clients in emergency situations
- Travel to assigned sites to perform site inspections
- Provide meal breaks, relief, and missed shift coverage for security officers at assigned client locations
- Coach and discipline personnel as appropriate; seek advice from company management or designated representatives as appropriate; meet personally with employees and document coaching and disciplinary actions
- Train Guard I and other company personnel; review post orders and other details of assignments with subordinates
- Assist in the submission of payroll and personnel information to the company as designated
- Prepare, file, and submit various reports as required
- As delegated, carry out or assist with security assessments and site surveys; may assist in developing post orders, may assist in the development of safety initiatives
- Create processes and procedures to improve efficiency, profitability, and contract compliance
- May temporarily act on behalf of line management as delegated
- Inspect posts as scheduled and meet with subordinates to outline tasks and responsibilities
- As directed, conduct analyses of operational performance and data, gather information and assist in implementing corrective action
- Provide input to company initiatives; promptly assist in the resolution of legal, financial, human resources, and administrative issues
- Perform tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned office
- Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must possess and maintain an Unarmed Security Guard License
- Six (6) months of security experience is required. One (1) year of security experience preferred.
- Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- May be required to utilize handheld wands or walk-through magnetometers
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a motor vehicle record check and employer and government (eQip or eApp) background checks after accepting a conditional offer of employment
