About the Role & TeamAs a Guest Animal Operations Manager, you will be providing strategic direction and leading the day-to-day operations of one of the Guest Animal Experience teams, leading a team of Education Managers and education Cast as well as managing a range of conservation education programs and day guest experiences. You will act as a senior leader in The Walt Disney Company, partnering effectively with peer leaders, animal care leaders, operations partners, and others to deliver experiences designed to promote wildlife and conservation awareness and action.In this salaried, full-time role, you will report to the Guest Animal Experience Director, Disney's Animals, Science and Environment.What You Will DoOversee all aspects of Animals, Science and Environment guest experiences within Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or Epcot.Provide clear direction regarding long-term goals and more immediate considerations in a constantly evolving environmentAchieve and sustain a vision that inspires exceptional guest experiences and supports our mission to Lead, Care, Connect and ConserveDevelop and implement performance standards that focus on safety, innovation, world class experiences, and measureable outcomesManage operational expense and labor budgetsServe as coach and mentor, providing developmental opportunities and feedback to all Cast Members while modeling exceptional instructional and interpretation techniquesIn partnership with the team, develop and implement a vision for the future of Guest Animal Experiences through program design and evaluationRequired Qualifications & SkillsMinimum 5 years of experience leading a teamDemonstrated leadership ability in a dynamic, complex working environmentProven partnering skills and ability to work with various departments throughout the companyDemonstrated strong organizational, technical and problem-solving skillsOutstanding instructional and communication skillsPassion for conservation education, storytelling techniques, and connecting guests to natureDedication to promote an inclusive work environmentSuccess with leading, managing, and completing projectsOpen to a flexible work schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidaysPreferred QualificationsRecent work experience within The Walt Disney CompanyExperience with educational program design, implementation and evaluation in a classroom or an informal education environmentIn depth knowledge of educational principles and instructional design modelsExperience leading a team in a unionized environmentEducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience work experienceAdditional InformationBenefits and Perks: Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life!
