The Guest Relations Specialist plays a key role in executing the plans, vision and tasks that ensure a high-quality and welcoming guest experience at university events.

NATURE AND SCOPE:Reporting to the Assistant Director, Guest Relations & Protocol, the Guest Relations Specialist is a member the University Events and Protocol (UE & P) unit within the division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). As a support role, the position works closely with other team members and other University offices to build and get approval for invitation lists contacts as well as external contacts such as vendors, visitors, volunteers, and the general public.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:The Guest Relations Specialist assists with the preparation and execution of planning and day-of materials that form the backbone of university hospitality. Responsibilities include the creation of guest lists, invitations and programs, place cards, name tags, seating arrangements, registration, and other event collateral as needed. The role serves as one of several pre-event points of contracts regarding registration and as an on-site representative for guests, addressing any issues and ensuring a welcoming experience. Day-of activities include guest check-in, directing guests to their seats, and providing information as needed. The Guest Relations Specialist helps to coordinate all guest-related logistics, outreach efforts, assists in post-event evaluations, and performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- Associates or bachelor's degree required or minimum two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and technology specific to event planning preferred, including event design software, guest list management and other.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate respectfully under stress.
Compliance Salary Range Disclosure, Expected Pay Range: $68,181 - $75,000
