Position Summary:Under the leadership of the Director, Patient Registration, the Guest Service Technician is an active member of the Patient Registration team that delivers patient registration services and support that is consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy, and direction of Patient Registration and CRHS. The Guest Service Technician greets patients and family while registering patients entering the hospital through Outpatient and Emergency Departments. The Technician ensures all relevant patient information is collected and distributed to the appropriate departments to facilitate the delivery of timely care and accurate billing.Basic Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or a GED state certification.
Requires up to one month of on-the- job work-related experience to become familiar with CRHS's Outpatient and Emergency Department patient registration policies and procedures.

- Meets and greets every Outpatient and Emergency patient and family member with an appropriate greeting, proper body language and eye contact that communicates care and understanding.
- Assists non-emergency patients through CRHS's registration process and directs triage those patients who require immediate medical attention.
- Assists patients from automobiles into wheelchairs when necessary.
- Provides comfort as needed during the registration process, providing physical assistance with movement and comforting patients and family members during the waiting time.
- Serves as a liaison between the ER and family members relating information about the treatment being rendered and reassuring family members everything possible is being done for the patient.
- Monitors the waiting room periodically during the shift.
- Obtains the guarantor's signature on ER consent forms.
- Assists patients and family members in locating departments within CRHS.
- Keeps the Outpatient area orderly and requests Environment Service assistance as needed.
- Performs some clerical duties during slow patient times (i.e., data entry and copying).
- Informs Guest Service Team Leader of patient or family member concerns.
- Complies with all CRHS privacy policies and procedures including those implementing the HIPAA Privacy rule.
- Attending in-service training, education programs, meetings as required or directed.
- Adheres to established CRHS and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
