Position Summary White & Case's Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance group in Houston is seeking candidates with experience in Guyanese law to be a part of our 2024-2025 Guyanese Energy Fellowship Program, with the opportunity to work with ExxonMobil, one of our premier energy industry clients. In addition to being based in White & Case's Houston office, the Fellowship will also include a supervised secondment to ExxonMobil's Houston campus. The Fellowship will run from September/October 2024 - May 2025. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with excellent academic credentials, significant personal achievements, and a strong commitment to the practice of law in a global and diverse environment who are interested in returning to work in Guyana post-fellowship. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of our core competencies, which include excellent judgment, client readiness, drive, initiative, and an entrepreneurial mindset. We are looking for those with the ability to work collaboratively in high pace, high stakes situations. Project Finance Fellowship Program The White & Case Guyanese Energy Fellowship Program is a world-class program that provides (i) Guyana-licensed attorneys currently practicing in Guyana or (ii) Guyana-licensed attorneys that are LL.M. graduates the opportunity to work on pioneering Guyanese matters as part of a global law firm. As a Guyanese Energy Fellow, you will participate in our nine-month program working with ExxonMobil and other clients in our Houston office. You will work with internationally recognized partners and practitioners on cutting-edge matters. You will gain valuable insight into what we do and what it means to represent clients involved in complex international commercial and investment matters by working with and observing our lawyers. You will also receive feedback regarding your work over the course of the Fellowship, attend specialized training sessions and social events, and network with lawyers in other practice groups across the Americas. Upon completion of the Fellowship, you will become part of the global White & Case alumni program, which offers networking and business development opportunities throughout your career, Application Process Applications will be accepted and considered on a rolling basis.
