Summary - Position Summary
- Under supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, performs various service duties to provide supervision, companionship, and support to the patient. Helps to maintain patient room in a clean and orderly condition. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.

- Education: Requires ability to read, write, and complete an institutional training program.

- Knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, the Department of Patient Care Services, and Maine Medical Center.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
- Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain continuous relationships with patients, visitors, and other MMC employees.
- Requires excellent communication skills.
- Requires the ability to meet the physical functional demands of the position
- Requires the ability to maintain sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Participates in continuing education and competencies relative to role as defined.
