Summary
  • Position Summary
    • Under supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse and according to established policies and procedures, performs various service duties to provide supervision, companionship, and support to the patient. Helps to maintain patient room in a clean and orderly condition. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Requires ability to read, write, and complete an institutional training program.
  • License/Certifications: N/A
  • Experience: N/A
  • Knowledge of standards, policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, the Department of Patient Care Services, and Maine Medical Center.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
  • Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain continuous relationships with patients, visitors, and other MMC employees.
  • Requires excellent communication skills.
  • Requires the ability to meet the physical functional demands of the position
  • Requires the ability to maintain sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Participates in continuing education and competencies relative to role as defined.
