**Position:** Handyman/Carpenter **Location:** Marietta, GA

**Job Id:** 148 **# of Openings:** 0 Handyman / Carpenter Full-service Atlanta based general contractor seeks a Handyman/Carpenter. Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Handyman/Carpenter will need the ability to self-perform carpentry work, drywall repairs, cabinet repairs, painting, plumbing, electrical, etc

ABOUT THE JOB:

* Carpentry work which can include cabinet installations, wood replacement, measuring, cutting, nailing, finish carpentry, trim work, and simple framing

* Minor Drywall installation and repairs

* Minor Flooring installation and repairs

* Window and exterior/interior door replacement

* Painting and caulking (interior and exterior)

* Light electrical - replace outlets, install new fixtures, etc

* Basic plumbing - swap out appliances & fixtures, quick fixes, etc

* Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. shutting off water valve)

* Identify and report the need for major repairs

* Ability to manage multiple locations simultaneously and to meet cost and schedule objectives

* Ability to read blueprints

* Clean facilities by sweeping, dusting etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or GED preferred

* Have a minimum of 10 years experience

* Experience with plumbing and electrical systems required

* Ability to work with hardware, tools and power equipment

* Requires medium to heavy labor candidate must be able to lift 50lbs. routinely

* Must be able to climb a ladder or scaffolding

* Extremely organized with good communication skills

* Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving

* Understanding of work sequencing and dependencies and ability to recognize issues/conflicts

* Problem solving ability

* Layout and punch list experience/capabilities

* Working knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications and plans for all trades

* Strong follow-up skills and ability to organize timelines

* Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment

* Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external customers, subcontractors and vendors

* Self-motivated; able to work independently to complete recurring tasks and respond to department requests and to collaborate with others to utilize their resources and knowledge to identify quality solutions.

* Traveling to each job location requires the safe operation of a company vehicle must be able to drive

* Must have a valid drivers license and a clear motor vehicle record

* US Citizenship (will be verified)
