Job Description:

The Harbor & Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of harbor and warehouse activities, ensuring smooth logistics and compliance with safety regulations. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Harbor Operations: Oversee the loading and unloading of vessels, ensuring timely and accurate operations.
  • Support the Offshore Site Team
  • Coordinate with port authorities, customs officials, and shipping agents to facilitate smooth clearance of goods.
  • Monitor vessel schedules and coordinate with harbor crews to optimize resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
  • Warehouse Management: Manage inventory levels, track incoming and outgoing goods, and maintain accurate records.
  • Organize and optimize warehouse layout to maximize storage capacity and efficiency.
  • Implement inventory control systems to prevent stock outs and overstocking.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient receiving, storing, and shipping of goods.
  • Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry-specific safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting a safe and productive workplace.
  • Logistics and Transportation: Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule and manage the movement of goods.
  • Monitor shipment status and resolve any logistical issues that may arise.
  • Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and delivery times.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all harbor and warehouse activities, including inventory, shipments, and safety incidents.
  • Generate reports on key performance indicators, such as inventory turnover, shipping times, and safety metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, or harbor operations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and computer software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Forklift operator certification (preferred).
  • TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) (preferred).

Additional Considerations:

  • Physical Demands: The role may involve lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Working Hours: May require flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate shipping schedules and urgent needs. Rotational 7 days on 7 days off. 12 hr days
  • Travel: Occasional travel to other ports or warehouses may be required.
