About the Role
The Harvest Technician is responsible for assisting with the operations of the Harvest Room in accordance with state regulations and standards set forth by PTS Corp. The position provides on-site support for the harvest process by completing tasks that include harvesting, trimming, plucking, and shucking plants. The Harvest Technician helps maintain workspace cleanliness and follows strict quality control measures to ensure high-quality product.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Learning and following company harvest practices.; Ensure daily compliance with policies including but not limited to; state compliance, security protocols, and company SOPs.
- Assist with harvesting of plants; Fan leaf removal, plucking, breaking down, trimming, and shucking of harvested plants.
- Maintain organization while harvesting multiple strains and batches.
- Weigh, record, and label post-harvest materials and manage cultivation waste.
- Visually inspect plants for any diseases, insects, and mold, reporting concerns to management for remediation.
- Report all quality control issues during harvest to the Lead immediately.
- Maintain accurate records of product harvested to ensure proper product identification and quality control.
- Maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of production area.
- Make sure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated as needed
- General cleaning duties, e.g., scrubbing and sanitizing trays and tools and cleaning miscellaneous equipment.
- Sanitizing rooms according to best practices.
- Adhering to strict biological security protocols to aid in the efforts of preventing contamination.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Prolonged periods of hand use.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at appropriate times as this position may be exposed to splash hazards, high temperatures, and chemicals.
Must Haves
Education and Experience:
- To remain compliant with state law, you must be 21 years of age or older and can pass a background check to obtain a Department of Agriculture Agent Card.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience in a general production or manufacturing position.
