We are seeking Hazard Mitigation Specialists.
These individuals will conduct site inspections and develop the associated project grants to validate infrastructure damage and record detailed damage descriptions during the inspection. Specific tasks include:
- Working with Applicants to logically group and prioritize projects based on the Applicants recovery priorities
- Establishing regular meetings with the Applicants to facilitate the program delivery and recovery process
- Tracking and following-up with the Applicant on FEMA's Requests for Information and documentation submission
- Developing scopes of work, including related code and standard requirements
- Validating applicant-provided scopes of work, including related code and standard requirements
- Evaluating hazard mitigation proposals and developing benefit-cost analyses
- Developing cost estimates for infrastructure projects
- Evaluating applicant-provided cost claims for reasonableness
- Develop cost-effective measures to eliminate or reduce future damages to damaged facilities specifically, to reduce repetitive damage-to-damage public facilities in accordance with Section 205 of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000. The contractor shall also evaluate effectiveness of mitigation measures that have been implemented in accordance with approved Hazard Mitigation Proposals
FEMA PA-TAC Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of expertise.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a FEMA Badge (Existing FEMA Badge preferred).
- Ability to deploy to a disaster area within 48 hours of notice.
- Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work professionally, effectively, and efficiently in a team environment with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FEMA Public Assistance experience.
- Active FEMA Badge.
- Experience with FEMA Grants Manager.
