Job Description:
Exercise judgment to plan and perform a sequence of operations to prepare and cook a wide variety of dining hall meals. Education and Experience Advanced knowledge of cooking techniques and procedures equivalent to 1 2 years of formal food service training or equivalent work experience is necessary. At least 3 years additional institutional cooking experience is necessary. Skills and Knowledge FOR CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION, PLEASE COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION. Responsibilities Plan and assign work to cooking staff. Prepare and cook all standard dining hall meals including occasional special dishes. Assist and instruct cooking staff in methods, procedures and use of equipment. Modify menu to make economical use of leftovers. Prepare food in proper amounts and coordinate cooking so that all items are ready for serving on schedule. Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation.
