Lake Pleasant Central School is seeking a talented and creative individual to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, a passion for sustainability, and a commitment to using seasonal, local ingredients. You will have the opportunity to design and execute a menu that reflects these values. The deadline for applying for this position is October 1, 2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Create innovative seasonal menus that highlight local produce and ingredients.
- Ingredient Sourcing: Continue to maintain and develop relationships with local farmers and suppliers.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess formal food service training or its equivalent.
- Must possess and demonstrate a working knowledge of the planning and preparation of food programs to meet the daily school breakfast/lunch program offered to our student population.
- Must demonstrate the ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
- Must demonstrate the ability to order, store, process and prepare foods.
- Must demonstrate the ability to prepare budget requests to satisfy breakfast and lunch program projections.
