Our Human Resources Team at the Greenville County School District is dedicated to advancing student achievement by recruiting and employing the highest qualified staff for our schools and to serve those with whom we work.Summary:Job Title: Head CustodianFunctions: The person who holds this position is a skilled employee who is directly involved in supervision of custodial workers. This person must understand the use of custodial cleaning aids and various machines used in custodial work. Also, this person can make and evaluate custodial work schedules and evaluate the performance of the custodial workers. This person will advise the Principal on matters relating to the custodial staff and its work.Qualifications:1. High school graduate or GED2. Successful experience as a custodian or related work3. The ability to direct and supervise the custodial staff4. Have a working knowledge or approved method for use of custodial supplies and equipment5. Have some understanding of the repair and maintenance of the building and its equipmentWorkKeys Expectations: Locating Information - 3, Applied Mathematics - 3, Reading for Information - 3Reports To: This person is directly responsible to the Custodial Specialist or Plant EngineerResponsibilities:1. Supervise the custodial staff, assign work schedules, and evaluate the work of the staff2. To make daily inspections of building and ground to ensure that both are clean, orderly and safe for students and staff3. To be responsible for the opening and closing of the building and gates4. To monitor the security system and make certain that it is in proper working order and used as directed5. To make routine repairs to building and equipment6. To have an understanding of the use of various soaps, chemicals, cleaning supplies and custodial equipment7. To keep heat and air conditioning in working condition8. To be responsible for ordering custodial supplies, equipment and for maintaining an inventory9. To work with the custodial staff in their work as directed by the Custodial Specialist or Plant Engineer10.
