Overview
We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, qualified candidate to oversee our golf operations department under the direction of our Director of Grounds. This position will be hiring in January 2025 to prepare for the summer season. Pay based on experience.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Head Professional has the responsibility for the overall management of the day-to-day golf operation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.
* Maintain a high profile with membership and guests and positively promote the service philosophy of EMCO Hospitality.
* Under the direction of the Director of Grounds, assign daily tasks and supervise work activities of personnel in the department
* Maintain control of associate uniforms, ensuring that uniforms and name tags are worn and kept in proper condition at all times
* Assist in the planning and execution of club tournament program.
* Assist in the development of promotional materials to communicate the programs to the members and guests.
* Interpret and enforce golf rules and regulations
* Provide golf lessons to members and guests. Be a competent instructor whose qualifications have been approved by the PGA of America
* Play golf with members of all skill-levels to encourage enthusiasm
* Reconcile daily, weekly and monthly activity from point of sale computer system
* Assist with ordering, receiving, and storage programs including monthly inventory processes.
* Answer telephones clearly and concisely, to schedule future starting times and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner
* Accurately operate point of sale system. Verify the accuracy of prices on all sales tickets. Collect green fees and cart fees
* Assist in the development of standards and maintain responsibility for cleanliness and appearance of Golf Shop storage areas and merchandise display
* Professionally communicate information, sell merchandise, and become fully knowledgeable of all products and sales techniques. Anticipate the needs of members and guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives
* Responsible for managing, opening, closing, and securing golf shop and storage areas using established procedures
