This position assists in leading the Aquatics staff; day, evening and weekend Aquatics programs and the Aquatics facility in the absence of the Aquatics Director and/or Aquatics Coordinator. Also, helps conduct safety-training classes for the Aquatics Department. Directly trains new hires under the guidance of the Aquatics Director. Assists in the maintenance of the swim lesson program and the lifeguard schedule.Shifts: 4pm-10pm on Friday, 5pm-10pm on Saturday and 2pm-8:30pm on Sundays.Competitive compensation package includes:

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures the safety of the pool patrons through strict compliance with Bellevue Club health and safety standards. Communicates those standards to all pool patrons and enforces the rules.
- Assists the Aquatics Director with recruiting and training of new hire lifeguards, may also assist in preparation of the lifeguarding schedule and payroll as needed.
- Reviews Aquatics department policies and procedures.
- Assists the Aquatics Director and the Aquatics Coordinator in administering the Bellevue Club swim lesson program; teaches swim lessons as needed and performs lifeguarding duties.
- Assists Aquatics Coordinator in approving the placement of students in swim classes and moves students as appropriate into advanced classes based on their demonstrated skill levels.
- Performs various pool area custodial duties.
- Administers swim assessments as needed to determine skill levels of students prior to assignment to a lesson group.
- Communicates with students and parents to troubleshoot conflicts in order to arrive at mutually agreeable solutions. Refers members to the Aquatics Director or Aquatics Coordinator when unable to arrive at a solution.
- Performs various office administration tasks. Answers the pool telephone, answers swim lesson and swim team inquiries, performs miscellaneous filing, etc. Refers callers and visitors to the Aquatics Director as needed.
- Responds to emergency situations throughout the Club that may require a trained, certified First Responder. Performs CPR and First Aid as needed. Utilizes the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) as necessary.
Requirements:
- American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training (includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid).
- ARC Lifeguard Training Instructor required within 6 - 9 months of hire.
- Minimum 1 year of lifeguard experience
- Two to three years' supervisory experience preferred.
- LGI preferred, but not required
- ARC Water Safety Instructor preferred.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
