Brief description of duties: This is a full-time position. The head coach will be responsible for the development, coaching, organization, and management of the men's lacrosse team. Duties will include recruiting, scheduling, game management, budget, equipment management, promotional activities, fund-raising, player eligibility, and NCAA Division III rules compliance. Purchase College is a member of the Skyline Conference and a member of Division III. As the Student Support Coordinator, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Support all student-athletes in various areas of college life, build a strong background of campus resources in order to best serve each student-athlete's individual needs

* Supervise student-athlete study hall hours

* Primary liaison between student-athletes and academic advising/The Learning Center

* Assist with academic certification and re-certification of new/returning student-athletes for credits and GPA

* Monitor and distribute Academic Progress Reports

* Foster communication between coaches, student-athletes, and professors regarding missed classes for games

* Be proficient in Banner and HRETS

* Provide academic support to student-athletes

* Assist with various administrative and operational duties in support of the athletic director and the department as a whole, including game day supervision

* Monitor all academic efforts for each sport

* Facilitate communication between coaches and prospective student-athletes on specific areas of study, application process, and financial aid/housing process

* Represent the Athletic Department at college and recruiting fairs

* Help with educational component for student growth and development by planning events, for example alcohol awareness and sexual assault education

must be able to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, and weekend hours are necessary)

This is an 11 month position with mid-December to mid-January as your time off.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education or related field is preferred. Previous successful coaching experience at the college level is also required. Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, recruiting experience, and knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations as well as a valid driver's license.
