RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage the profit center for the Competence Cluster.
- Oversee the portfolio and asset strategy for the Competence Center.
- Maintain and manage analytical instruments.
- Develop, validate, and document analytical methods.
- Provide analytical consulting to internal and external customers.
- Build partnerships with universities/research institutes for third-party analytical capabilities.
- Protect Evonik's intellectual property and ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
REQUIREMENTS- Education: Master's degree required; PhD in Analytics or related field preferred.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant work experience and at least 3 years of experience managing teams in a scientific or technical setting.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE BASEBroad, but not in-depth knowledge of analytical methods, with emphasis on:
- Chromatographic methods (GC, HPLC).
- Mass spectrometry.
- Molecular spectroscopy (NMR, IR).
- Elemental spectrometry (ICP-OES).
- Physical measurements, thermal analysis, and particle characterization.
TEAM AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT- Strong organizational skills to handle varying assignments and diverse clients.
- Preferably experienced in project management with the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects.
- Proven ability to lead a team of scientists and lab engineers.
DECISION MAKING- Capable of making sound decisions on both technical issues and the development/management of the analytical lab.
FINANCIAL IMPACT- Accountability for cost and profit within the Analytical Competence Center.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND NETWORKING- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with team members, clients, colleagues from various sites, and global technical experts.
- Ability to deliver comprehensive results in reports and oral presentations.
- Strong team leadership experience.
PROBLEM SOLVING AND INNOVATIVE THINKING- Entrepreneurial and self-driven mindset.
