Job Description:

OverviewProduct Management - M5 sets strategy and vision for the Product Management function for a business unit and has oversight of the full complement of products within a key segment. Drives product related strategies across a diverse combination of industry segments and globaland domestic geographies. Sets the strategy and vision for the development of a variety of products and product lines and works with senior leaders to ensure functional strategies tie to business unit objectives.

Leads and directs staff in building the business case for firm offerings in the marketplace and ensures that the team stays on top of the competitive landscape and the industry environment. In collaboration with senior leaders, determines the key products of strategic importance to the firm and the long term goals for the function. Manages and leverages the financial growth and profitability of all products to sell to internal audiences and clients. Executes the setting and vision for a product set involving multiple products, tracks, manages and leverages financial data, uses marketing principles to sell to internal audiences and clients. Ensures that product aligns with business direction and manages the product development process. Ensures implementation across all global products.

Defines, develops and guides the overall strategic positioning and targeted client segments for all products. Collaborates with peer managers in Relationship Management/Business Development/Account Management and Marketing teams to ensure alignment and clarity as to how to manage, develop and promote the product or business. Responsible for ensuring that all work conducted by subordinate team aligns necessary regulatory requirements. Assists staff in navigating Risk, Legal or Compliance requirements. Drives product related strategies across a diverse combination of industry segments and global and domestic geographies.

Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Provides feedback at the most critical times. Manages multiple teams. Work is accomplished through subordinate managers. Develops and oversees the achievement of functional objectives and ensures they reflect and support business unit objectives. Manages the financial and human resources for the function.

Minimum Requirements:Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 15 plus years of total work experience with at least 5-7 years in management preferred. Securities or financial services experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $300,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
