The Head of Continuous Improvment, reporting directly to the VP, Operations, Protective Materials, will ensure and drive directly, where needed, continuous improvmeent project implementation in the perimeter or responsibility, in line with short term and long term operational ambitions. This individual will also be responsible for sharing best practices and organizational development as needed. They will also support the Plant Managers on prioritization and implementation of the Operational Excellence projects. This position will travel between Kaukauna, WI and Mosinee, WI.
Responsibilities: Project Management: Supports Operational Excellence initiatives identification and deployment, working directly with divisions, plants, Continuous Improvement managers and local project owners to assist in defining priorities, manage projects, support implementation and tackle bottlenecks to grant successful execution. Central Continuous Improvement Coordination: Interacts with plants and Group Operational Excellence stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement projects execution leveraging broad Ahlstrom know how sharing. Supports with guidance on interpretation and correct deployment of instructions received from Group Opex organization. Provides additional support to Operational and Group functions: Supports other operational stakeholders, such as plant managers, VP of BU, and VP Operations, on additional operational challenges and opportunities, leveraging a strong relationship with business owners to support cross collaboration across multiple workstreamsKnowledge and Experience requirements - Minimum 5 years experience in the paper industry in operations
- Possess a bachelors degree or highter
- Has shown emerging interest/passion for the operations world (e.g., belongs to the operations practice, significant share of operations projects).
- Continuous Improvement playbook is a must have (OEE, Utilization, other operational metrics), previous experience in the field and willingness to learn
- Required to ensure active tracking and understanding of priorities and bottlenecks
- Clear understanding of P&L and CAPEX implications from Operational Excellence initiatives required
- Willing to travel and work across mills and potenitally geographies
