Job Description:
Nasdaq is looking for an experienced leader to run the Product team within our Data business. This role provides leadership and overall product direction through the vision and strategy of the Data Business. The Nasdaq Data business provides innovative alternative, real-time and historical information products for multiple asset classes, designed for a wide array of client types at every stage of the investment lifecycle. This role is responsible for the core market data products coming from the U.S. and Canadian exchanges, as well as our Nasdaq Data Link catalogue, API distribution and Alternative Data products that help our customers make informed investing decisions. The role will suit someone with a background in Product Management and Product Development with he ability to work directly and understand an Engineer's perspective. In this role you will manage a team of product managers, operational staff, data scientists in offices globally. You will take on P&L responsibility for the Americas data and Alternative Data business and will be responsible for the ideation and development of new data products and the development of third-party partnerships globally. The role reports into the Global Head of Data. As the Product leader for data, the candidate will work with various internal and external stakeholders, engaging with business, legal and compliance leads, and representing Nasdaq Data in the media, at events, and towards industry bodies.Manage product management teams and the product development teamsP&L ownership for the Americas and Alternative Data businessBecome the subject expert for market data within the organisation.Meet regularly with customers to understand their needs, validate product ideas, and assist with new salesHigh level of interaction with customers/prospects, including quants, analysts, and CIOsParticipate in or leads the analytical, experimental, investigative, and testing efforts in support of new product development engineering. Coordinate all phases of new product development, including research and design, financing, pricing, marketing, sales and distribution.Take ownership of problem resolution for existing products and new product development.Drive innovation within the business to organically grow the revenue pool and look to enhance existing data products.Provide strategic input to product development.Represent Nasdaq at professional industry group meetings, in local media and at eventsWork together with business stakeholders in Technology, Sales, Operations, Client Success, Legal, Compliance, Marketing and Corporate Communications.Education Required: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering preferred.Experience Required: Minimum of 10 years in a relevant role within market data industry or financial data – must have had management experience for a team of a similar size.Knowledge of U.S. Market Structure and excellent contacts/network in the marketExceptional verbal and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of CRM and other sales applicationsHighly proficient level computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookExcellent time management skills.Highly energetic and self-starter.Able to multi-task on activities with shifting priorities.Ability to understand the main business drivers of current and potential customers, and design solutions accordingly.Successful candidate will need to develop subject matter expertise in complex Nasdaq offerings to assist the product team to meet the unique needs of our customers.Frequent travel including International.This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (2 days a week in office), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.Come as You AreNasdaq is an equal opportunity employer.
