This Sr. Manager - eCommerce Technical Operations role has a global function and is based on-site in our Charlotte, NC office with a hybrid schedule of 2 days at home and 3 days in the office. Your core tasks
  • You will be responsible for the team leadership for the Global Digital Commercial Enablement team responsible for the systems, tools, and technical capabilities to facilitate growth in our global eCommerce businesses across our brand sites and key e-tail partners.
  • You will be responsible for the D2C tech product roadmap, partnering with the commercial D2C team to identify and prioritize website enhancements that provide unique value to our end consumer for shopping from our brand site.
  • You will own the strategy and relationship with external agencies for web platform development as well as SEO and CRO/UX improvements for our websites.
  • You will coordinate with marketing, sales, and brand teams to improve the flow and utilization of digital assets/content/product information throughout our digital touchpoints. This includes developing the strategy and supporting the technical management of our PIM and content syndication tools by your team.
  • You will be responsible for the continual development of your team for technical and business capabilities.
  • You will keep aware of industry developments and trends that would help drive a competitive advantage and evaluate the potential for Schleich by attending conferences, reading trade publications, and networking with industry leaders.
  • Your team will also be responsible for web shop management, technical project management for enhancements of tools and data flow that enable ecommerce success (GA4, Shopify, Klaviyo, Nosto, REMDASH, etc), and digital shelf monitoring for Amazon and other key B2B e-tail partners.
  • Your team will consult with all Schleich's business entities for any non-commercial website and mobile app needs.
  • You are responsible to ensure compliance of data privacy and IT security of the entire D2C landscape and its tools given by the corporate legal and global IT departments.
  • You are responsible for the digital landscape development, inclusive of contracting, supplier management and IT/service operations in close collaboration with the global IT team to ensure technical alignment with Schleich's enterprise architecture.
  • Your team also has responsibility for all D2C post-order management which includes management of a global Customer Service agency and facilitation of finance and logistics operations for payments/refund processing and order fulfilment.
Your profile
  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, IT, e-commerce, or an equivalent background.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in the field of software development in e-commerce or neighboring areas.
  • Experience managing direct reports as well as external agencies.
  • You are familiar with SCRUM and SCRUM-like project methodologies as well as their respective tools like JIRA, Confluence, M365.
  • Knowledge of programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience and familiarity with Shopify Plus and Amazon tools is preferred.
  • You are able to grasp overall business contexts and integrate digital tasks into the overall business context.
  • You work in a solution-oriented manner, see challenges as opportunities, are always motivated to expand your knowledge and keep up with the latest software developments.
