What you will do The Head of Enterprise Data role provides vision and strategy for all data management activities. They serve as the champion for global data management, governance, quality, and privacy related to data across the enterprise. In this role, you will oversee the data priorities of data scientists, data stewards, data engineers and data service providers. You will work with all business teams to understand their data and business intelligence (BI) needs and create and execute upon plans to address. This role will create a data driven culture within Utica National.
  • Data Strategy - This position owns the development and execution of the corporate data strategy. The Data strategy starts with the corporate goals, mission, and long term plans, and is developed and executed in stages to drive business value.
  • Policies and Standards - The leader establishes data policies, standards, organization, and enforcement of data concepts. They also oversee and reports on data metrics and has executive-level responsibility for all enterprise information/data management budgeting and initiatives.
  • Data Governance - The leader must organize and implement policies, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities that outline and enforce rules of engagement, decision rights, and the accountabilities for the effective management of information assets.
  • Data Quality - The Leader must determine the company's current data quality and maturity levels and define and execute plans to continually improve.
  • Business Intelligence - Establish an architecture and a collection of integrated decision-support applications and databases, providing the business segments and centers of excellence easy access to business data, dashboards, and reports.
  • Master Data Management (MDM) - Master data is how the organization describes real-world entities (E.g. customers, products etc), resulting in a single version of truth. This position oversees MDM activities such as how you capture, integrate, and share the MDM information.
  • Data Warehousing and Big Data - This position will work with their IT counterparts on the strategies for Data Warehousing, Big Data, Unstructured Data, and other evolving data related technologies. The Leader will be responsible for bringing forth new technologies to our IT team for continuous improvement.
  • Metadata Management - The data leader will manage metadata activities, allowing users to understand the data they rely upon for business decisions.
  • Coordinate with other Underwriting Leaders to align appetite across lines, where appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Conforms with all corporate policies and procedures.
What you need
  • 10+ of significant experience in data and analytic roles, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Leadership experience
  • Bachelor's Degree- B.S. or B.A. in mathematics, statistics, or a technology related curriculum required
  • Master's Degree- MBA or Masters in related field preferred.
Additional Information:Location:HybridSalary Range: $172,078 - $239,127 **The final salary to be paid and position within the internal salary range is reflective of the employee's work experience, their geographic location, education, certification(s), scope and responsibilities in the role, and additional qualifications.** This position is bonus eligible.
