Position Overview

The Head of Finance and Operations will play a critical role in the continued growth and success of Altriarch Asset Management. This individual will oversee the firm's financial management, operations, and corporate strategy to ensure efficient and scalable processes, financial integrity, and alignment with the firm's long-term goals. The role combines leadership in financial oversight with operational excellence, directly influencing both the financial strategy and operational execution of the firm.

This position requires a strong leader who possesses both strategic and operational expertise, is highly collaborative, and can provide guidance and leadership across various functional areas including finance, accounting, compliance, risk management, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

Finance and Leadership:

  • Lead the firm's financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee all financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory compliance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the investment manager, Altriarch Asset Management.
  • Coordinate with the Investor Relations Team to ensure the financial reporting and accounting for the commingled funds is accurate and delivered to investors in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and systems, maintaining best practices for internal controls.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers and financial institutions.
  • Provide executive leadership in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Conduct financial performance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the firm's day-to-day operations, including middle and back-office functions, and operational risk management.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency, with a focus on scalability and automation.
  • Work with senior leadership to establish and maintain an effective operational risk framework, including controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with key service providers, vendors, and technology partners, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Monitor and optimize the use of technology to streamline operations, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Oversee the cash and account reconciliation process daily, monthly and quarterly.

Leadership and Development:

  • Lead strategic initiatives and projects to enhance business performance, including mergers, acquisitions, or new product offerings.
  • Ensure that financial and operational strategies support the firm's growth, risk management, and regulatory compliance goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and operations team, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture.
  • Implement performance metrics and continuous development programs for the finance and operations teams.
  • Work with HR to ensure that the firm attracts, retains, and develops top talent within the finance and operations departments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in financial management and operations, preferably within asset management or a similar financial services environment.
  • Proven expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Strong understanding of operational frameworks, including risk management, compliance, and process optimizations.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in finance, business administration (MBA), or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CAIA.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, or significant business expansion projects in a financial setting.
  • Comfort working in high-growth or start-up environments with a flat hierarchy and rapidly evolving responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with auditors, tax professionals, regulatory bodies, and other external stakeholders.
