The OpportunityInvestment Management (IM) is looking for an energetic, intellectually curious individual with strong analytical skills to lead the Investment Data Strategy team. This role will be accountable for defining, communicating, and driving forward the data strategy for IM, partnering with teams across Investment Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Enterprise Technology, Corporate PMO, MassMutual affiliates and external third parties.The TeamThe Investment Data Strategy team is part of the Investment Management (IM) Strategy and Governance organization. The Strategy and Governance team drives IM's strategy forward, optimizing governance and decision-making processes, analyzes, and establishes common metrics, processes, and tools and supports key internal and external stakeholders in progressing the IM target operating model. The team is also responsible for coordinating the departments strategic initiatives, Investment Compliance, and Investment Due-Diligence.The ImpactA successful person in this role will exhibit strong leadership and communication skills, a passion for learning, and resilience. The ideal candidate will easily adapt to changing priorities, manage time across multiple initiatives, and be comfortable discussing investment topics with teams across the organization.Your responsibilities would include, but are not limited to leading a team that will:Ensure that our strategy for sourcing, aggregating, distributing, and governing Investment data adequately that meets the broad requirements of the end-to-end investment management processPartner with project and development teams to ensure solutions align with our investment data strategy Drive tangible business value through the delivery and adoption of data governance practices including accountability model, data quality measurement, data catalog, and data consumer engagementPartner with teams across the organization by applying investment knowledge and other technical skills to help address data issues and implement data ecosystem enhancementsPlay a leading role in the design and implementation of MassMutual's target operating model for Investment OperationsProvide investment portfolio reporting and analysis for the Portfolio Management team, MassMutual's business and corporate units, the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors, and external rating agenciesAdvance the interests of the department by serving in working groups outside of Investment Management when appropriateOversee Investment Management's budget for market data and technology suppliersThe Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degreeMinimum of 12 years of investment data experienceExperience developing and leading high-performing, diverse teamsExperience as a leader in an Investment Management functionProficient in MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)Experience in analyzing data using business intelligence software such as: MicroStrategy, IBM Cognos, Tableau or other equivalent reporting toolsStrong understanding of various types of investment instruments including fixed income and equity securities, alternatives, and derivatives for reporting and analysisStrong communication skills and ability to condense analyses into written and oral presentations and actionable recommendations to portfolio managersThe Ideal QualificationsExperience with the insurance industry including a working knowledge of statutory investment accounting requirementsProven strategies for employing a disciplined approach and detail orientation, with proven results in managing multiple deliverablesPossesses excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsTeam Player / Relationship Building: Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills; able to relate to and build strong relationships with diverse internal and external audiences/constituencies; leverages the ability to deliver effectively.#LI-IZ1Salary Range:$159,800.00-$209,700.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees.
