Job Description:

The Head of IT Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for ensuring that programs and projects are planned, managed, and governed in a consistent, transparent, and disciplined manner. The position requires an experienced program management professional with the right mix of relevant experience and skills, an ability to flex between the strategic and the tactical, outstanding verbal and written communication skills. This role will require strategic thought leadership to develop an IT application roadmap and drive execution on initiatives that unlock value for the business in alignment with defined and prioritized strategic initiatives.

This role will lead a team of Business Analysts (BA's) and PM's while partnering with the IT Development and Desktop Support Team Leader (FMR-IT) to successfully identify, plan, develop and deliver enterprise wide programs and supporting projects.

As the leader of the IT PMO, you will foster collaboration across business units and technology, providing sound analysis and change leadership. Building and maintaining strong internal customer relationships is essential as this position will work with Business Partners, internal staff and system integrators on a daily basis to ensure delivery of quality products in alignment with global initiatives and requirements across the enterprise.

POSITION DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Strategy

  • Help define long-term technical strategy and architecture roadmaps in partnership with organizational leaders.
  • Ensure the successful implementation of the PMO's strategy, responsibilities, services and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with business partners to provide input to multi-year project roadmaps tied to strategic initiatives, risk, and overall business value.
  • Develop and drive change management methodology across the IT organization and embed change management in solutions delivery.

Leadership

  • Hire, train, and manage a team consisting of Business Analysts and Project Management professionals responsible for supporting the technology related efforts and new business or process change initiatives across multiple business units. Actively develop and mentor direct and indirect reports to ensure they are able to perform their roles; this role may also be responsible for the management of contract staff and vendors.
  • Provide business relationship management support. Represent IT and manage escalations and demands from across the business.
  • Define & lead programs to execute on highest priorities and achieve business outcomes
  • Establish frameworks and standards for Program/Project Management and Business Analysis.
  • Define and ensure project controls and governance are in place.
  • Manage the portfolio of initiatives to ensure appropriate resource allocation, adherence to scope, schedule, budget and strategic alignment to business objectives, requirements and key performance indicators.
  • Partner with the IT Development and Desktop Support Team Leader (FMR-IT) and coordinate the development of technology to ensure integration and synergy of all components and ensuring business objectives are met.
  • Define key performance indicators for core programs and processes, and track delivery against program objectives.
  • Establish, negotiate and maintain technology design and vendor contracts. Ensure obligations are executed and contractual relationships are complete.
  • Accountable for release management, automation, and systems maintenance of critical business systems.
  • Communicate status of portfolio to senior management and executive team, including recommendations to improve performance and corrective actions.

Operations

  • Define clear, achievable goals, to ensure project team success and facilitate rapid decision making. Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent teams from achieving objectives.
  • Communicate new/updated programs, policies, and processes to leaders, employees, and cross functional organizations.
  • Manage the IT budget.
  • Project Management Office oversight.
  • Oversight of day to day operations including issue management and escalation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience required, including business analysis, project management, budgeting, and risk management
  • 7+ years of management experience
  • Experience in Financial Services and/or a Family Office is a plus

  • Excellent time management, organizational, negotiation and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and personnel management skills
  • Flexible in adapting to new and varying situations

  • Proactive and positive attitude, highly motivated, self-directed
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
