We have recently commenced manufacturing and sales operations and are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Manufacturing to join our leadership team and drive our manufacturing processes forward.
Job Summary: The Vice President of Manufacturing will oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient, timely, and high-quality production. his includes managing and optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing operational strategies, and leading the operations team. This role is crucial in shaping our manufacturing strategy and driving operational excellence in our startup environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management within the life science and beauty products sectors, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of scaling operations in a growing company.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.
Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and inventory levels to meet production targets.
- Implement best practices in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements specific to the life science and beauty industries.
- Implement and maintain robust quality control systems and procedures.
- Drive initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product quality.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting.
Innovation and Technology:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Lead the implementation of new technologies and automation to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Promote innovation and drive research and development initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards within the life science and beauty industries.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other departments, including sales, supply chain, and engineering, to align manufacturing goals with overall business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and executive leadership.
- Represent the manufacturing function in executive meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the life science or beauty products sectors.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving production goals in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and regulatory requirements specific to life science and beauty products.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
- Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
