About the Role

The Company is in search of a Head of Marketing and Communications to join its start-up team and lead the strategic development of the communications function. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director to identify and pursue top communication opportunities that align with the organization's mission. This role requires a seasoned professional with a startup mentality, a proven ability to collaborate across a matrixed organization, and a strong commitment to the values of the company, including imagination, connection, equity, trust, integrity, learning, and excellence. The Head of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for translating strategic goals into work plans, establishing KPIs, and driving the planning and budgeting processes for the department. They must be adept at building and managing an equity-centered strategic communications program, and be capable of creatively leveraging various communication tools to support the organization's social impact work. Ideal candidates for this role at the company will have a notable history of achievement in the field of communications, with at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience. The role demands an individual with exceptional writing skills, the ability to manage external strategy firms, and a keen understanding of emerging cultural, social justice, political, technical, and communication trends. The Head of Marketing and Communications will be expected to model and foster cross-departmental collaboration, remove barriers to effective problem-solving, and serve as a thought partner to the leadership team.
