Job Description:
  • Review underwriting from loan officers or portfolio managers
  • Joint prospect calls with BDO's/RM's to help add value and to learn more about the priorities of the prospects and how to mitigate the inherent risks.
  • Investigate and follow-up on significant changes in status of existing customers; meet with customers to discuss needs and outline appropriate Bank services and to resolve problems as necessary; assist in the organization of the department, coordinating available resources (e.g., staff, materials, etc.) for maximum results; and recommending suitable streamlining and cost reduction and/or income generation approaches for the division.
  • Managing and expanding buy-side and sell-side relationships within the middle market syndicated loan space (generally, syndicated loans from companies with EBITDA from $20 million to $100 million)
  • Lead the process for lead managed sell side middle market syndications, including helping to develop CIMs, gathering data and populating data sites, building a list of partner banks and helping all groups within CBG to finalize a club syndication transaction.
  • Leading efforts to drive lead bank deals, including advising on proper fees, building and maintaining a sell side bank list, marketing to banks, generate and maintain data sites, and helping RM's close on lead deals with bank partners.
  • Providing bi-weekly middle market bank syndication list to CBG.
  • Regular marketing to buy and sell side banks for middle market lending opportunities. Requires quarterly travel to maintain relationships.
  • Provide and track historical and forward middle market deal lists.
  • Finalize and maintain middle market sell side policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly (or more) meetings with CBG to review middle market lending activities and to maintain proper communication channels.
  • Identify and help RM's execute on primary and secondary market opportunities within the middle market syndicated loan space
  • Providing insight into credit and portfolio risk and market levels and trends within the middle market syndicated loan space
  • Build out the middle market syndicated lending group
  • Providing portfolio updates to management, the Board of Directors, and when needed, bank regulators
  • Provide training and mentoring to lending staff
  • Ensure implementation and compliance to meet lending and other applicable banking requirements.
  • Comply with the Bank's security program, including but not limited to:
    • Review and comply with the End-User Computing Agreement
    • Acquire good knowledge on functions and usage of computer systems as related to the assigned job functions.
    • Be current and knowledgeable in industry's trend in safeguarding the Bank against confidential data leak, identity theft, fraudulent activities, and computer security threats.
    • Reports suspicious activities to manager, Chief Risk Officer or Information Security Officer.

Job Qualifications/Requirements

  • Required: Minimum seven years of experience in banking and three years in a management position.
  • Required: Ability to analyze and organize financial information and perform complex financial calculations.
  • Required: Detailed knowledge of banking regulations and laws; compliance documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Required: Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Required: Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or customer complaints.
  • Required: Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, employees, regulators, or board members.
  • Required: Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Required: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Required: Ability to demonstrate a high level of ethical behavior and follow the Code of Conduct.

  • Required: All managers and supervisors are responsible to comply with and enforce the End-user Computing Agreement. They are also responsible for establishing controls that incorporate:
    • Segregation of duties and appropriate supervision
    • Transaction reconciliation
    • Review and clearing of exception items and conditions
    • Review of regularly occurring functions and reports
    • Reporting of discrepancies or differences in operating functions or generated reports
    • Protection and security of equipment, software and confidential data
    • Maintaining adequate environmental controls
    • Monitoring and maintaining control over the use of laptop computers
  • Required: They are also responsible for:
    • Adequate staff training on the appropriate use of systems, handling of diskettes and media, security policies and protection of confidential information.
    • Periodic review of adherence to established security controls
    • Reporting security deficiencies to the Information Security Officer
    • Protection of confidential information and records
    • Ensuring that all critical data is saved on the default server drives assigned to each user for automated backup

The salary range for this full-time position is $250,000.00/annually - $275,000.00/annually + bonus + benefits

Salary ranges are determined based on qualifications, level, and location.
