The Opportunity

This individual will work closely with leadership to overhaul and reimagine the entire Model Product Marketplace, improving the way advisors interact with it. It's an exciting opportunity to be part of the ground-floor buildout of a critical part of the platform. In this high-visibility role, you will have the chance to directly monetize this side of the platform, work closest to where revenue is generated, and gain significant recognition for your contributions.

A key initiative for this role is the development of a self-service model that allows clients to independently make portfolio adjustments, switch models, and test performance. This role will also provide support as a relationship manager to Money Managers by guiding them in selecting the right tools and resources. Amplify currently serves hundreds of clients and collaborates with 110 Model Providers and Money Managers, with plans for continued growth.

Success in this role will be measured by increased adoption within the advisor base. Currently, the platform has 3% adoption across its $20B in assets under management (AUM), with expectations to grow adoption to 50-70% in the Model Marketplace over time.

As industry trends shift from commission-based models to fee-compensation models and from representative-managed portfolios to outsourcing to institutional Money Managers, this role will play a vital part in driving and growing these trends.

Responsibilities

Relationship Management:

  • Serve as an important point of contact for all third-party managers, strategists, and product providers.
  • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Actively communicate platform updates, marketing initiatives, and new feature opportunities.
  • Have a strong grasp on how advisors use model portfolios. Work with their firms to help them select the right solutions for their needs.

Contract & Pricing Oversight:

  • Manage contracts, in partnership with legal, with third-party providers, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
  • Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure compliance and clarity in all agreements.
  • Monitor and manage pricing structures, ensuring competitive and aligned pricing for third-party offerings.

Product & Platform Support:

  • Act as the liaison between third-party providers and the product team to ensure alignment of platform requirements.
  • Help providers understand platform features, visibility requirements, and product standards needed to succeed.
  • Ensure all partner products are correctly represented on the platform, working with UI/UX and product teams, as necessary.
  • Reimagine and rebuild the current platform for the Model Marketplace.

Platform Visibility & Marketing:

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to maximize platform visibility for third-party providers.
  • Identify and execute co-marketing opportunities, content, and promotions to enhance provider presence.
  • Drive initiatives to improve brand recognition and user engagement with partner products.

Data Distribution & Integration:

  • Coordinate data distribution to ensure accurate, timely, and complete data flow between third-party providers and the platform.
  • Partner with product and technology teams to identify, implement, and support integration requirements.
  • Address and resolve data or integration issues, ensuring a seamless experience for end-users.

Joint Sales & Business Development:

  • Identify and develop joint sales opportunities with third-party providers to drive platform growth and adoption.
  • Support enterprise sales teams with partner-related insights, materials, and co-presentation opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to create sales materials, training sessions, and product overviews that effectively position partner solutions.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

The ideal candidate is someone who excels in relationship-building, has a deep understanding of wealth management and investment strategies, and is familiar with technology platforms. They should also have a strong grasp of model portfolios and how advisors utilize them. A passion for helping firms select the right solutions is essential. This role is for a builder, as the current platform is being reimagined and rebuilt.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or a related field.
  • CFP or CFA are highly desired.

Industry experience and knowledge:

  • 7+ years of experience in wealth management, asset management, fintech, or a similar industry. Required.
  • Knowledge of investment portfolios and separately managed accounts (SMAs). A plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of platforms in the industry. A plus.
  • Strong skills in building and developing investment solutions. A plus.
  • Experience with annuities and investment products. A plus.

Relationship Management:

  • Experience managing third-party relationships, including investment providers, Model Providers, Money Managers, financial advisors, and investment managers. Required.
  • Understanding of advisor relationships and the advisor base. Required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of building collaborative partnerships. Required.
  • Background in managing relationships with outsourced Money Managers, including representative-managed portfolios. A plus.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills. A plus.

Models:

  • Experience with fee compensation models. A plus.
  • Familiarity with model portfolios, investment strategies, and investment models. A plus.
  • Knowledge of data distribution processes, integration requirements, and marketing best practices. A plus.

Personality:

  • High energy. Required.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities with ease. Required.
  • High level of comfort with technology and data platforms; experience in wealth tech platforms. A plus.
