Designation: Head of Manufacturing
Experience: Min 20 years in Fabrication, Manufacturing & assembly of Heavy Engineering Equipment

Qualification: BE Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering including additional qualification in welding
and AISC Certification is mandatory
Team Strength handled: Approx. 50 people including staff and workers
Products manufactured under this position: Fabricated Engineering products involving Heavy Fabrication and Assembly of Penstocks, Stop Logs and Screens
Expected annual turnover of these products: Currently 35-40 million USD and will consequently rise to 60 million
USD by 2027-28
Leadership / General Requirements
The candidate must have experience working in a reputed Engineering and Fabricated products manufacturing company
A minimum of 20 years of experience is required including min 3-4 years in a leadership role overseeing the entire shop
Must be aggressive (go-getter) and possess a positive attitude.
He should have experience in handling a team of around 40-50 people consisting of Planning, Assembly Engineers,
Technicians (such as Fitters, fabricators, etc.), and Contractors.
The candidate must have experience in managing the Planning function.
He should be able to provide the required Management Information systems (MIS) to the management.
Experience in Lean methodologies, 5S, and Best manufacturing practices (BMP) will be an added advantage.
The candidate must be very strict regarding the On-time-delivery (OTD) requirements and committed to its achievement while
also acting as a team player and coordinator.
JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PRODUCTION HEAD –
Technical requirements
The candidate should have worked in a company that manufactures heavy fabricated equipment made of stainless
steel, aluminum, and carbon steel weighing up to 10 tons.
Candidate should have exposure to various codes like ASME, DIN, AWS, etc.
He must be well-versed with the latest fabrication and assembly equipment, tools, and fixtures, and should have hands-on
experience in process improvement.
The Candidate should be able to execute and monitor Shop plans in accordance with the Delivery requirements.
He should have a comprehensive understanding of the current Fabrication and assembly technologies and should have
hands-on experience in doing the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) of the various processes.
A key focus should be on improving Productivity, on-time delivery, and optimizing costs.
The candidate should monitor Planned vs. actual performance and ensure appropriate capacity planning.
Working knowledge of SAP is preferable
Knowledge of welding processes like GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, SAW, and MIG/MAG is mandatory.
The candidate should be capable of performing assembly tasks and should lead by example.
An understanding of the machining process is required
He should be working continuously on the improvements to the shop floor.
Knowledge of mechanical/ hydraulic/pneumatic assemblies will be an added advantage.
He should have experience in handling Audits, Inspections, and documentation.
Experience of Site-Services is expected
