Job Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and Maintenance, fully responsibility for leading and managing the real-time and day to day remote activities of RRNA's Remote Operations Control Center (ROCC). Ensuring that all renewable energy assets operations are conducted in the most efficient and reliable manner and according to industry best practices. Operates within all regulatory requirements, as well as environmental and safety standards.
The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Responsibilities: - Responsible for defining and developing all procedures necessary to ensure efficient and effective remote operations of the renewable energy assets within our fleet including alarm and warning resolution, substation switching operations, curtailment procedures, call-out procedures, casualty control, and emergency action planning
- Responsible for ensuring maximum SCADA connectivity and resolving SCADA/communication failures to ensure control and monitoring capabilities are always available
- Responsible for developing optimized communication systems between the renewable energy assets we manage, Transmission Operators and off-takers
- Responsible for performance improvement and failure analysis of SCADA systems and ROCC processes
- Oversees selection, productivity, and professional development of all ROCC personnel, including hiring the ROCC Supervisor, and ROCC Operators
- Maintains a thorough understanding of and ensures compliance with all regulations established by NERC and FERC in a Medium Impact ROCC
- Develops and implements the ROCC training and certification requirements, including all regulatory functions required of a Remote Operations Control Center
- Responsible for delivering appropriate support and data to ISO operations and counterparty transaction management services
- Supports the operations of the O&M and Asset Management Group to help provide rapid market response to certain pertinent events and to support cost-effective ISO scheduling and settlements
- Trains shift personnel in the conduct of their duties as ROCC operators
- Other duties that may be assigned including Performance Management and High Voltage Operations

- 7+ years of experience managing a control center for a utility, ISO, or major third-party resource control center provider
- NERC/FERC certification preferred
- Proficient knowledge of energy management and trending analysis software, SCADA, and Microsoft Office software
