Position summary:
The Head of School at Washington Christian Academy is responsible for carrying out the mission of the school by leading and collaborating with students, families, and staff in a manner that glorifies God and promotes a Christ-centered learning environment. Essential duties include providing spiritual leadership, vision setting, and ensuring financial accountability to fulfill the mission and goals established by the board of directors.
As the chief executive and administrative officer of Washington Christian Academy, the Head of School works closely with the board of directors, staff, and families to implement the vision and carry out the policies of the board.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as the chief administrative officer of the school, having ultimate and final authority for all academic and spiritual aspects of the school.
- Collaborating with the Finance Committee and staff to create and implement a financial budget for the school.
- Working with the school staff, administrators, and board of directors to set and meet enrollment and fundraising goals.
- Actively participating in school and community events and working to foster a supportive and positive Christian environment for all staff, administrators, students, and families.
Candidate Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education, leadership, or a related field is desired.
- 5 years+ of administrative leadership in an educational or similar institution.
- A meaningful connection to Christian education.
- Understanding of and commitment to fundraising and development.
- Fully agree with and support the Reformed Basis of the Constitution, and be an active member of a local church.
