Job Description:

A leading Jewish Day School in New York is seeking an experienced Executive Director to oversee strategic planning, operations, finance, and development for its Early Childhood through Grade 12 programs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a thriving educational institution rooted in Jewish values and traditions while shaping the future of its students and community.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will work collaboratively with educational leadership to foster excellence and sustainability across all facets of the school. The ED will provide visionary leadership, operational expertise, and strategic direction, ensuring the school continues to thrive both financially and operationally.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Leadership

  • Collaborate with leadership to set goals and priorities for the school's future.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing team of professionals.
  • Build strong relationships within the school community and beyond.
  • Work with the Board to advance the school's mission and strategic goals.

Finance and Operations

  • Develop and manage the school's annual budget and financial resources.
  • Oversee daily operations, including security, transportation, vendors, and facilities.
  • Drive the development of policies and systems to streamline operations.

Advancement and Development

  • Implement a comprehensive strategic development plan.
  • Oversee marketing and communications to strengthen the school's position in the competitive educational landscape.
  • Partner with lay leaders on fundraising campaigns and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10–15 years of experience in education administration or related fields.
  • Proven leadership in nonprofit or business sectors with operational and financial expertise.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong commitment to Jewish education, values, and community service.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $175,000–$225,000
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 403(b) with generous match, long-term disability, and flexible spending plan.
