The Community Development Department is seeking positive team players to work in the Division of Parks Culture and Recreation. We have immediate openings for Head Pool Attendants to provide guidance and direction to subordinate staff and greet and admit patrons to the City pool and to serve food and beverages. We are looking for responsible individuals, who have excellent communication skills and the ability work independently. Positions are open until filled and may close at any time. Essential Job FunctionsPerforms attendant responsibilities at pool facilities to include: admissions and concession stand operations; greets customers; provides information; responds to questions; calculates admission fees if applicable; takes and fills food and beverage orders; prepares food items to specifications; evaluates and ensures product accuracy and quality; receives monies for payment of food and beverages, admissions or merchandise; gives change; balances cash drawer; maintains related documentation.Cleans and sanitizes concession stand and equipment, admissions area, and locker rooms; according to established schedule and specifications; sweeps and mops floors; washes counters and food service equipment; picks up trash and debris; washes deck; trims bushes, etc.Ensures adherence to compliance standards by implementing safe and proper food handling practices acquired through the completion of food safety certification and in accordance with local health regulations.Receives and/or reviews various records and reports such as menus, prices, cleaning duties, swim lessons, and food preparation sheet.Prepares and/or processes a variety of documentation such as swim lesson/program forms, camp forms, receipts, rain checks, and menu prices.Tracks inventory and notifies manager when supplies are getting low.Performs related duties as assigned.Minimum Required QualificationsEquivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides a minimum of two years required knowledge, skills, and abilities in food service and customer service environments. Must be at least 16 years old by the start of the season. Special RequirementsFor head pool attendants working at the pool, must possess and maintain (or be willing to obtain before the start of the pool season) the following certification: ServSafe or equivalent designated food safety certification. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a group; must exhibit strong communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and have a flexible schedule.All employees must complete staff orientation. Employees are required to work a combination of weekdays, weekends, and holidays.Early application recommended due to our multi-step pre-employment process.
