We have a Lead Teacher open at our Head Start!Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field is Required.The Teacher is responsible for implementing the Creative Curriculum and planning developmentally appropriate individual activities in a safe, healthy learning environment. Services are provided within the context of the family, its culture and the community. This position has ongoing supervision of the classroom Teacher Assistant and other staff as assignedThis position promotes and provides opportunities to staff to embody the agency mission which is To Engage Communities and Coordinate Resources to Improve the Lives of People Experiencing Poverty . Program operation is designed around the mission, vision and values of the agency to meet both program and agency strategies and goals.Essential Functions:Promote positive work environmentPlan for purchase classroom materials within the yearly budgetMaintain equipment and supplies used in classroom and on playground during group sessionsParticipate in scheduled center staff meetingsDevelop and implement development and implementations study themes lesson plans based on individual children's developmental level, interests and learning goalsDocument required information on weekly progress reportConduct appropriate number of family visitsMaintain Confidentiality.Reliable attendance.Demonstrate ability to organize and manage time effectivelyProvide information to parent committees on a regular basisMaintain appropriate programmatic documentation in each child-family fileSupport family efforts to access community resourcesProvide transition informationPhysically able and willing to participate in all children's activitiesFollow health, safety and sanitation guidelinesProvide a developmentally appropriate learning environmentScreening, assessment, and observationObserve and document child's progress and maintain appropriate recordsProvide program information to community organizationsEstablish and maintain professional relationshipsRecruit, train, and utilize volunteers and document their contributionsAccess community resources to extend learning opportunities with field trips and visitorsDemonstrate interest in farthing formal education to meet Federal degree mandatesIdentify own professional growth needs and develop a plan to achieve them such as CLASSStay current in knowledge of child development by participant in education training opportunitiesAssociate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field is Required.MVCAA offers a choice different tiers for medical, dental and vision plans with low premiums, to fit you and your family's preferences.
