Duties

The Varsity Head Football Coach at Limestone Community High School is responsible for leading the entire football program, including freshmen, JV, and varsity levels, while creating a cohesive vision that promotes success and growth at all stages. This position requires planning and implementing effective practice sessions, game strategies, and player development, as well as overseeing the off-season weightlifting and conditioning program to ensure year-round athletic improvement. The coach fosters student-athlete growth on and off the field by promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic achievement. They will work with program staff, manage equipment and budgets, ensure compliance with IHSA and district policies, and collaborate with community partners such as the JFL program.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Varsity Head Football Coach position at Limestone Community High School must possess a strong background in football coaching, with experience leading teams and developing comprehensive programs. A thorough understanding of IHSA rules and regulations, as well as a commitment to fostering academic and athletic excellence, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to inspire student-athletes and staff. The head coach must also prioritize improving student-athlete accountability both on and off the field.

Additional Notes

Candidate must hold a PEL or proper IHSA certification to be able to coach at the high school level. Additional employment opportunities may be available at LCHS dependent on candidate qualifications/certifications and school need.
