Main Duties & Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY: Set up and operate single and/or multi-die headers for manufacturing precision aircraft quality fasteners. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Competencies: * Reads and interprets documents (blue prints, drawing, or manufacturing work orders), to ascertain what tools and materials are necessary for producing products to precision tolerance to aircraft specification.
*Sets up and operates on a production basis, all assigned headers and their related products. This includes settings and adjustments required to produce parts to specifications. Selects, mounts, and aligns tooling attachments and materials in proper order and relationship. Makes all adjustments necessary to produce parts of acceptable quality.
*Loads machines with raw material and monitors production run using measuring devices, such as, comparators, micrometers, calipers and various other inspect gauges.
*Reworks and directs reworking of tooling as needed.
*Keeps accurate statistical process control records, when required, on each job manufactured, making adjustments during production run as the SPC data directs.
*Meets and maintains all productivity levels and quality requirements to support departmental goals and schedules.
*Performs minor preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
*Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
Other assigned tasks as directed by department manager.
Qualifications
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
