Health and Safety DirectorSchildberg Construction Company is looking for a Health and Safety Director. The right candidate will have the opportunity to put their stamp on the direction of this department. Schildberg Construction Company takes the Safety function seriously, and we are in need of a thoughtful, analytical, proactive, hands-on, and energetic leader to take the department to the next level. This position will be responsible for the safety culture for our multiple locations in southwest and southcentral Iowa and northwest Missouri with over 200 employees. We have a great benefits package, a signing bonus, and an outstanding working environment.Primary FunctionsThe Safety Director is responsible for creating and cultivating a safety-conscious work environment across the entire organization. This hands-on position will manage the Company's safety program to ensure compliance with all Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) rules and regulations, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations.ResponsibilitiesDirect the development and implementation of the Company safety program and ensure compliance at all Company locations.Continuously conduct evaluations of Company processes for compliance with all MSHA rules and regulations.Conduct and manage all safety training of Company personnel, developing curriculum appropriate for all levels of personnel.Foster a safety culture throughout the entire organization and work closely with other departments and supervisors to promote buy-in of a safety culture.Investigate all safety incidents and near misses to identify root causes and develop effective corrective actions.Develop metrics on Company safety trends and work closely with insurers on all related insurance policies, claims, and programs.Stay current with all industry and MSHA regulations and best practices, ensuring the Company remains compliant with all safety standards and adherence to the Company's safety and compliance goals.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. MSHA experience preferred but not required.Strong background in leading the Safety function, demonstrating resourcefulness, adaptability, and analysis for improvement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage personnel at all levels, working independently and collaboratively to achieve best practices and results.Demonstrated ability to work proactively in identifying safety issues in compliance with the Company's goals and objectives.Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
