Arcosa Specialty Materials is searching for a Safety Manager for our Norman, OK office.

Arcosa Specialty Materials is a leading U.S. producer and distributor of lightweight and natural aggregates, including rotary kiln-produced lightweight expanded shale and clay, crushed natural stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other construction materials.

What You Will Do:

* Be an energetic LEADER that can equally influence and lead individual contributors and site team members responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, processes, and policies to safeguard employees and the public to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.

* Work to integrate the Safety Team with our ARC100 efforts and work with Operational Leaders to drive our safety culture journey.

* Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety programs consistent with the organization's management system and governance.

* Cultivate, promote and continuously improve a safety first culture amount all site employees.

* Provide support, technical expertise, and training to the site employees and departments.

* Perform audits and manage the implementation of audit recommendations from corporate and outside sources.

* Oversee investigation of all incidents/accidents and near-misses, including root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventative actions, and ensure implementation of those actions.

* Lead crisis management programs, including structure, teams, responsiveness, and communication.

* Work with contractors to ensure they have a robust safety program and are trained in any unique site requirements.

* Mentor staff in health and safety management and compliance program development and implementation.

* Influence and lead individual contributors responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, processes, and policies.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need:

* Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental, or related field.

* 5+ years of experience in a Safety leadership role in manufacturing.

* 5+ years of experience with MSHA and OSHA regulatory agencies.

* In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations.

* Hold safety related certifications (ASP, CSP, etc.) or eligible - preferred

* Energetic and strong work ethic.

* Initiative to maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace.

* Experience in working with teams and projects

* Good communication skills

* Ability to develop strong relationships with other technicians and plant-level teams

* Ability to facilitate collaboration and communication with all operational teams

* Stand for 4 hours at a time and lift 50 lbs. safely.

* Travel - 50% required.

Skills and Abilities:

* Computer skills with working knowledge of Excel and other database software platforms.

* Ability to sort and trend data for the purpose of creating Pareto analysis and other KPI analysis.

* Strong understanding of federal safety compliance rules & regulations (MSHA and OSHA).

* Good observational, analytical, and problem-solving.

* Listening and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to bring creative ideas.

* Ability to stay disciplined and focused on high-priority tasks.

* Adult written and verbal communication.

* Able to be productive and effective working independently or as part of a team.

* Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

* Have a passionate, energetic, can-do attitude.

* Ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Environment: Mix of office work and site visits to mines and plants.
