Job Description:

Connsci is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Health Chief Technology Officer to join our team. The Health Chief Technology Officer (HCTO) at Connsci will be a pivotal leader driving our health technology vision, aligning it with strategic goals across the Health Portfolio and company objectives. Reporting directly to the Health IT Portfolio Executive, the HCTO serves as a key member of the senior IT leadership team, fostering innovation to enhance performance, scalability, and security across Connsci's Health Technology Solutions. This role supports digital transformation, leads advanced technology integration with core business processes, and drives excellence within the Health Portfolio. Areas of responsibility will include: Technology Strategy & Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a strategic technology roadmap that aligns with Health Portfolio objectives. Lead innovations that enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and secure Connsci's competitive advantage.
Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of Health Portfolio technology platforms, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs). Lead efforts to optimize system performance, reduce risk, and enhance service delivery. Oversee disaster recovery and continuity planning.
Interoperability & Digital Health Expertise:
  • Provide subject matter expertise in health IT, with a focus on Health Information Exchanges (HIE), HL7, FHIR, and Meaningful Use. Participate in interoperability workgroups, staying current with ONC's Standards and Interoperability (S&I) Framework to meet evolving national and state requirements.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors to identify business needs and recommend scalable solutions. Present the technology roadmap to the executive team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment. Additionally, support proposal development, solutioning, and participate in sales calls with prospective customers.
Innovation & Emerging Technologies:
  • Research and implement emerging technologies focused on digital health, mobile applications, and consumer health devices. Lead initiatives in data interoperability, security, and accessibility, enhancing value for Connsci's customers and partners.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, emphasizing data security, privacy, and HIPAA. Lead cybersecurity initiatives to safeguard Connsci's data and infrastructure.
Team Development & Leadership:
  • Build and develop a high-performing IT team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and growth. Empower team members to contribute meaningfully to Connsci's technology vision.
Location: This role will be able to work primarily remotely but does require some office time for team meetings/collaborative initiatives as well as occasional client site visits around the DC Metro region. Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Proven ability to develop and execute technology strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 10 years of healthcare IT experience in enterprise architecture, software development, cloud computing, systems integration, or a combination thereof
  • At least 5 years of experience in health information technologies, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDA), and digital health innovation
  • At least 5 years of experience with disaster recovery planning, cybersecurity, and healthcare regulation compliance, including HIPAA
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience leading technology teams in healthcare IT
  • Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as Java, XML, HTTP/S, RESTful APIs, and data integration platforms
