NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK

Minuteman High School is looking to hire a Health Clinical Nurse Instructor Assistant. Minuteman's technical assistants are responsible for assisting teachers with instruction in classroom, shop and clinical settings. This position will travel to clinical settings with Minuteman's Health Assisting program. Individuals applying for this position will work collaboratively with instructors across pathways and with our health office. They will participate effectively in school-wide department goals, and transdisciplinary activities. This is a part-time position Tuesday-Thursday 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Major Responsibilities:

* Accompany and supervise students at Minuteman's long-term care clinical site*

* Clinical site requires all participants to be COVID-19 vaccinated

* Provide assessment of students' health assisting skills towards CNA attainment

* Supports learning experiences in Health Assisting, guided by the CTE Frameworks and district standards and requirements, while creating an environment that is conducive to student learning.

* Actively participate in integration projects within the Health, Hospitality and Human Services Pathway, and throughout Minuteman to provide a quality education to all students.

* Provide effective supervision of the Health Assisting students as deemed appropriate by administration.

* Certify staff and students in Industry Recognized Credentials such as First Aid/CPR and AED

* Provide coverage and assistance for the school nurses as needed, providing direct care to students as well as participating in mandated health screenings.

* Communicate effectively and on a timely fashion with staff and students.

* Help implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.

* Support a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

* Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.

* Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.

* Assist the administration in implementing district goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the District.

* Provide coverage for other staff as needed.

* Supervise students during unstructured times as needed.

* Attend staff or team meetings as required.

* Demonstrate high-level knowledge of occupational materials, equipment, technology and processes.

* Identify pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve social, emotional, and learning problems.

* Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as needed.

* Perform other related duties as assigned

* Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required

* Knowledge of Ch. 74 Health Assisting Frameworks preferred.

* Minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred.

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Health Assisting field preferred.

* Previous experience with X2 preferred but not required.

* Ability to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff.

* Citizenship, residency or work VISA in the United States is required.

* BLS certified

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Equipment Used: Copier, fax machine, SMART Board, phone, computer

Physical Demands (if applicable): Most of the day will be on your feet assisting students. On occasions you need to move or light articles.
