Detailed Description
- Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, select tools, materials and equipment to ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Review work progress on a daily basis, prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Manage comprehensive construction schedule, assign appropriate resources and manage labor and wage expenses. Negotiate contracts with external vendors.
- Plan and supervise a wide variety of health care construction projects from start to finish. Organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and within budget.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and designers to determine specifications of project. Plan all construction operations and schedule phases to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Procure materials, equipment and supplemental services, supervise the work of union laborers, mechanics outside vendors and consultants.
- Responsible for prioritizing all in house projects with executive directors for MUHC facilities.
- May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, interior design, architectural design/studies, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities project management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three (3) years of healthcare experience.
- Five (5) years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Building Trades Supervisor, or Construction Coordinator.
- Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
