Health Information Technician
About the Position: The incumbent in this position is assigned responsibilities related to preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports in the medical records unit.
- Reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy and referring incomplete or inaccurate reports to appropriate staff for correction.
- Preparing statistical, case, and other types of reports.
- Preparing materials and forms and gathering all pertinent information and data for admissions and discharges.
- Ensuring all data is properly coded.
Job Type/Salary: - Full-time
- Annual Salary is $34,500, or $16.59/hour
- Primary Working Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 8am-5pm
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of eligibility for accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); or two years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic or a physicians office.
Special Requirements:Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid drivers license.
